Prices and Price Breaks

The Prices Form Tab stores all the information to do with pricing for the inventory item - normal selling price, special prices for bulk quantities, customer specific pricing that applies to selected debtors or a class of debtor, 10 Selling Prices with the capability of setting up forward pricing and Group Pricing for Debtor Groups. Pricing can be set item by item or by using the bulk price import forms or importing from Excel.

Steps

1. Prices tab
2. Inventory  Defaults

  Sell Price - selling price of  the product or services per unit -e.g. $120.00 per unit. Linked to the Sell Price field on the Main tab and a change in either place will update the other field
  R.R.P. - Recommended Retail Price of the item - may not be applicable to services. Linked to the RRP field on the Main form tab and a change in either place will update the other field
  Last Cost – last price paid on purchase of stock items.  This field is updated when purchase invoices are activated.  The field can be overwritten
  Min GP% - minimum Gross Profit percentage required on this item.  System settings control whether a selling price below this minimum required can be entered onto a sales order - a message will display the minimum selling price permissible
  GP % - calculated figure  - Gross Profit divided by Selling Price
  GP $ - calculated figure – Selling Price minus Last Cost Price
3. Inventory Pricing Schemes

Inventory pricing schemes fall into three categories.

Quantity price breaks that apply for goods sold above specified quantities;

Debtor specific pricing where specific prices are applied to selected debtors;

Debtor Classification specific pricing applied to classes of debtors

System settings determine the priority of application
